Bronnie Ware, an Australian nurse, spent several years working caring for patients in the last 12 weeks of their lives. She recorded their dying epiphanies in a blog called Inspiration and Chai. The blog gathered so much attention that she wrote a book called The Top Five Regrets of the Dying.
The top five regrets she observed were:
- I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.
- I wish I hadn’t worked so hard.
- I wish I’d had the courage to express my feelings.
- I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.
- I wish that I had let myself be happier.
Fact is we have but one life and we should spent each day focusing on being who we really, achieving what we really want that day and most of all, enjoy being alive.
We all have a personality and an impersonal aspect to our being. Our personality is being directed by our mind and our five senses. Our impersonal self is that infinite intelligence within us and is being directed by something far greater than we can imagine. The answers you seek and your life purpose unfolds naturally and easily within your impersonal self. This impersonal self has nothing to do with our intellect and body. It is invisible intelligence and animates all of life. It is responsible for all of our desires. It allows our fingernails to grow, our heart to beat, and it is the life force that supports all of life everywhere. (Teachings from Dr Wayne Dyer)
So what is the challenge……
The key to life, as suggested by Joseph S. Brenner, is simply to Think and Create! When you know how “to think,” you can create at will anything you wish, — whether it is a new personality, a new environment for your family, a better world to live in or a business to serve and add value to others. Do you know how to think, consciously think….?
Now carefully consider this….
The key to life is to think and create but the key to business is to innovate and market.
Business is not an abstract entity; it is alive, it grows, it develops, it adds value to others which means that it interacts. Business has personality – yours! (And if you employ staff it adopts the personalities of all the team and staff members). Business must think into being (think) and create value to enrich the lives of others (market) – customers!
We cannot give others what we do not have…..and…
People always buy from people!
The number one regret of any dying business is that not enough time, effort and investment was made in personal development!
